🐣 Our Easter Weekend: Backyard Fun & Sunday Blessings

What a weekend! Between hosting a house full of "silly geese" on Saturday and hopping into service on Sunday, my heart (and my feet!) are so full. This Easter was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do—it's all about family, faith, and a little bit of chocolate.

🏠 Saturday: The Great "Duck Duck Goose" Scramble

We kicked off the weekend on Saturday with a backyard transformation! Our Duck Duck Goose Scavenger Hunt was the main event. Watching the kids patrol the "Enchanted Forest" and navigate the moon bounce was a hoot.

The competition was fierce, but we ended with two big smiles: my niece found her prize, and Francis followed the clues all the way to the garage to claim his Goose Egg! We also had a Bunny Hop sack race that had everyone cheering. We even hid two Golden Eggs in the grass with a $4 treasure inside each—nothing motivates a 5th grader like a little extra pocket change!

The Menu:

I kept the grill hot with Hamburgers, Hotdogs, and Party Wings. We rounded it out with my go-to Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, and a Fresh Garden Salad.

The Grand Finale:

As night fell, we lit up the pentagram fire pit for Gourmet S'mores. We used Strawberry, Lime, Lemon, and Orange marshmallows paired with Toffee Chocolate bars and White Chocolate Reese's. It was the perfect, sticky end to a long day. Huge shoutout to Aaralyn for being my cleanup queen—she stayed out with Frank’s youngest brother and me until the yard was back in tip-top shape!

⛪ Sunday: Service, Smiles, and Soul Food

Sunday morning was all about our church family at our Methodist Baptist church. I had the absolute joy of being the Easter Bunny for the service! 🐰✨ It was so special handing out Easter Baskets to the little ones and Candy Bags to the older kids. Seeing those smiles from under the bunny mask is a memory I’ll keep forever.

After service, we headed over to my mom's house. Her friend Mr. Paul prepared a beautiful dinner for us. It was so nice to just sit, reflect on the Word, and enjoy a meal prepared with love after such a busy Saturday.

It was a weekend of pure magic from start to finish. Whether we were hunting for eggs or celebrating at the altar, I’m so grateful for these moments.
